Meet the Team at Authority Chiropractic

A native Texan, Dr. Thor Woerner spent the majority of his childhood in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. His lifelong experience with athletics-his father coached football, and he played-set the stage for Dr. Thor’s interest in how the body functions.

Dr. Thor attended Abilene Christian University, where he was first introduced to the benefits of chiropractic care. As a collegiate athlete, the demands on his body were great. Dr. Thor experienced firsthand how chiropractic care enabled him to operate at peak function, producing optimal results on the field. Feeling called to serve others in a way that would optimize their health, he pursued his education in chiropractic.

Specializing in Torque Release Technique

Dr. Thor received his Doctor of Chiropractic from Parker University and then received post-graduate training and certification in the Torque Release Technique (TRT). He specializes in this method because it is both highly specific and extremely gentle; it can be used on every member of the family, including newborns, the elderly and pregnant women.

TRT gently restores normal “tone” in the nervous system with no twisting, popping or cracking associated with manual techniques, and Dr. Thor is one of the few San Antonio chiropractors certified in this technique.

Dr. Thor and his wife Aubrey opened Authority Chiropractic in 2017, choosing San Antonio for its proximity to family, hunting and fishing-and because it was a community they wanted to serve and to raise a family in. An avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast, Dr. Thor also enjoys spending time with his growing family.

Growing up in a family of chiropractors, with his father practicing in West Columbia, Texas, Dr. Bruce experienced the benefits of natural health care from a young age. “I’ve never even had a primary medical doctor. It’s always been chiropractic first; even at 50, my primary is my dad.”

Following in his father’s footsteps felt natural, although Dr. Bruce initially explored other interests, such as vocal performance and music. Ultimately he chose Chiropractic allowing him to merge his passion for helping people with his lifelong understanding of the body’s ability to heal itself.

Education and Training

Before chiropractic college, Dr. Bruce attended Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas, where he majored in Biology/Pre-Med and minored in Vocal Performance. He graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science.

Dr. Bruce went on to earn his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Texas Chiropractic College (TCC) in Pasadena, Texas, in 2000. His education combined a focus on anatomy, physiology, and hands-on techniques, allowing him to provide well-rounded care to his patients.

After graduating from TCC, Dr. Bruce began working with his father. In 2001, he opened a private family practice in Angleton, Texas, and served the community there for over 20 years before moving to San Antonio in 2021.

What Dr. Bruce loves most about being a chiropractor is watching patients experience the unexpected benefits of care. Many of his patients come in as a last resort, not anticipating much improvement, but he finds it so rewarding to watch their bodies respond, sometimes after just one adjustment. “Within a week or two, they’re saying, ‘I am getting better.’ That’s fun.”

Beyond the Practice

Outside the clinic, Dr. Bruce loves spending time with his family, taking day trips around Texas, exploring new places, and just being outdoors. His love for music continues through playing guitar and singing, though it’s now more of a personal hobby than for public performance.

Aubrey Woerner was born and raised in Abilene, Texas. After graduating from Hardin-Simmons University, her passion for serving others led her to become a Physician Assistant in the field of neurosurgery, where she learned the importance of maintaining a healthy spine. Aubrey was first introduced to chiropractic when she met her husband, Dr. Thor.

She has experienced the incredible benefits of chiropractic firsthand, including being adjusted throughout pregnancy-even during labor. Aubrey is passionate about working alongside Dr. Thor to share the powerful message of chiropractic.

Aubrey also loves the outdoors and enjoys spending time with her family.
